Allowances are used in all construction contracts. Each one turns in to a change order (it’s the nature of them). This should be straightforward and fair, but often it is NOT. The misuse (and abuse) is common where change orders can quickly add to thousands (tens of thousands) of dollars. Not kidding one bit.
Let’s say you have a builder billing improperly (big or small amounts). You have a gut instinct that it’s not right but no way to tell for sure. Allowances Schedule. One Excel template, ready to use. The other spreadsheet contains notes on over 40 allowance items-to further explain each one. It is an extensive list of allowance items with details about what you need to think about for each one! Can also be used for your budget.
